Our Design Team
Julie Binik
Julie is a Senior Designer with over 12 years of experience at Artistic Kitchen. Julie is renowned for her detail oriented mindset and proficiency in autocad and 3D rendering and infusing a European flair into her work. Julie’s career began in the design-build field, mastering residential remodel mechanic for over 7 years. Grateful for her role in an amazing company, she effortlessly merges her passion for design with expertise in residential construction, providing clients with both artistic guidance and practical insight throughout the design process.
Mike Ryan
Mike is one of our most experienced Senior Designers. Mike graduated from UC Davis and has been in the design / build industry for over 35 years. His passion for kitchen design shows in every project he works on. His ability to create his client’s vision and execute all of the steps necessary to ensure a successful project’s completion is one of Mike’s biggest strengths as a designer.
Kristin McRae
Kristin is one of our most talented Senior Interior Designers. Kristin graduated from San Jose State University with a BS in Interior Design. She has been in the Kitchen and Bath industry for over 30 years. Clients love working with Kristin and appreciate her attention to detail, giving her clients a wonderful and seamless design experience.

OPERATIONS MANAGER – Christine Kan
Christine has been in the Interior Design industry for over 17 years. Her experience includes working for some of the Bay Area’s most influential Interior Design Firms. Christine has always played critical roles in the business structure, marketing, and client experience portion of the business. Christine has extensive product and vendor knowledge which has been beneficial when specifying and sourcing materials. Christine is quick on her toes to mend any issues and is known for prioritizing and accommodating our client’s needs, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience.
BUSINESS DEVEOLPMENT – Marie Golder
Marie started in the Design/Build industry over 16 years ago as an Interior Designer right after she studied Architectural Design in the Bay Area. She continued her career working for local Production Builders but eventually decided to specialize in Kitchen Design. Marie joined the AK Team as a New Business Development Executive where she will be focusing on growing our design department to include partnering with our local Trade Professionals. Marie’s experience with the local Design/Build community will ensure some beneficial partnerships for the AK Team. Marie is a married Santa Cruz Native who has enjoyed raising two daughters in the small beach town she grew up in.
TECHNICAL DESIGNER – Jaclyn Leannah
Jaclyn’s design journey started at San Diego State University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Art with an emphasis in Interior Design. After graduating she began her design career with Artistic Kitchen in 2013 and has been with the company ever since. As a Technical Designer, her attention to details makes her uniquely qualified to prepare detailed drawings to our manufacturers to ensure our cabinetry orders are accurately processed and everything fits together seamlessly.
INTERIOR DESIGNER – Karen Border
Karen Border’s journey with Artistic Kitchen began as a client and seamlessly transitioned into a professional role as our Interior Designer. Originating from Sydney where she earned her Bachelor of Social Science degree (Economics major) from UNSW, she then worked managing catered events in some of Sydney’s most beautiful locations. She lived in London for years, broadening her international perspective, which enriches her design philosophy. Passionate about interiors, especially for modern design, Karen looks forward to working with our clients, helping to select materials and finishes that truly enhance their new spaces. In her spare time, Karen loves spending time with her teenagers, playing tennis, skiing, cooking (and eating) delicious food.
